On the job experience

  1. 1/2004-Today: Head of Management Information System office - Information Technology Manager in Unit D (organization - support) of the Intermediate Management Authority of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in Komotini, detached from Management Organisation Unit (MOU SA) which is based in Athens. The Intermediate Managing Authority is responsible for the necessary procedures for co-financing by Greece and the European Union of the majority of projects implemented in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

  2. Duties

    Organization and operation of information technology helpdesk office (MIS office) in the Intermediate Managing Authority for the staff of the Service and cooperating agencies. Duties of the office include:

    • Maintenance and upgrade of computers and servers.

    • Management and maintenance of the Service computer network.

    • Maintenance and update of the Service web site. The web site has been developed using the joomla technology.

    • Support of the Service staff in the use of the Information Management System of the Ministry of Development for the NSRF and the 3rd CSF in the past.

    • Creation of reports on demand using Oracle Business Intelligence and MS Access.

    • Support of the staff of the Service and cooperating agencies in the use of the Electronic Submission application which inputs data to the Information Management System of the Ministry of Development for the NSRF and the 3rd CSF in the past.

    • Operational support of the e-learning system of the Ministry of Development which is using Centra technology.

    Major projects

    • Design, prototyping, requirements analysis and development coordination of the IRIS information system that was created to monitor the necessary procedures for co-financing projects of the 2007-2013 programming period. The application has a web interface and combines Microsoft .net and SQL Server technology. It is capable of generating reports by combining data provided by the Information Management System of the Ministry of Development with data entered by its users. It includes electronic protocol, accounting and workflow management applications. It is used by the Intermediate Managing Authority as well as by other agencies of the Region that are connected to its network through Internet.

    • Development of an Ms Access database application for monitoring and automated creation of the necessary documents for the procedures required to cover the compensations for out of town work of the Intermediate Managing Authority staff.

    • Design, prototyping, requirements analysis and development coordination of an ArcGIS Graphical Information System containing the projects in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace that were co-funded by the 3rd Community Support Framework. The system developed was used by the Intermediate Managing Authority of the Region.

    • Development of an Ms Access database application that generated XML files from technical and monthly payment monitoring bulletins of co-funded projects in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The bulletins, created in Ms Word or Excel, where used as data input to the application which produced XML files. Those XML files were used for automated data insertion to the Information Management System of the Ministry of Economics for the 3rd Community Support Framework through the Electronic Submission web application.

  3. 9/2000-12/2003: ERP Systems Support (SAP R/3 and Epicor Platinum SQL) - Design, Development of Database Applications for Gnomon Informatics S.A., member of the Euroconsultants group of companies, Business Systems Unit, Thessaloniki.

  4. Experience in: SAP R/3, Epicor Platinum SQL, Ms SQL Server, Ms Access VBA, Ms Visual Basic, Ms Visual C++, PowerBuilder, C++, Java.

    Major projects

    • Participation in the customization process of a new SAP R/3 system (Sales and Distribution – SD) for the MEL S.A. paper mills company.

    • Implementation of a SAP R/3 Demo ERP System for training purposes in the company.

    • Design, prototyping, requirements analysis of a web – based procurement system for hospitals (European research project for which the total budget is 2,5 million Euros). The aim was to create an effective mechanism for electronic procurement, through which hospitals would define their needs, RHS headquarters would run reverse auctions to fulfill these needs and hospital vendors would participate in these auctions. Optimization technologies were used for the allocation of the best bid. An innovative method for categorization of health products was developed, that follows the European Union standards for public procurements. The software house participated as IT contributor to the project.

    • Upgrade from version 4.2 (SQL Server 6.5) to version 4.2a (SQL Server 7.0) of the Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system for Kunststoff S.A., a manufacturing company of PVC door and window systems.

    • Development of a cost accounting application in Microsoft Access that interfaces with the Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system for Kunststoff S.A., a door and window systems manufacturing company in Thessaloniki.

    • Installation, initialization and data migration of the Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system for the Euroconsultants group of companies. The aim was to implement a complete information system for all four companies of the Euroconsultants group.

    • Customization and functionality improvement to the system and the reports of the Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system for the Euroconsultants group of companies as well as for Kunststoff S.A.

    • Development of custom applications in PowerBuilder and Access to cover needs for extra functionality and reports for the Euroconsultants group of companies as well as for Kunststoff S.A.

    • Upgrade from local currency to Euro of the Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system for the Euroconsultants group of companies as well as for Kunststoff S.A.

    • Design and Implementation of an application in Platinum Basic and PowerBuilder in order to add characteristics to inventory items of Epicor Platinum SQL ERP system. The aim was to categorize the inventory items into a tree structure, on the basis of their characteristics, so that retrieving and using their definition would become match easier in every ERP subsystem.

  5. 2/2000-3/2000: Web site development for the LACE TAP office of the Region of Central Macedonia.
